Kimberly 1 Comments

RV Hunt Logos New 2

Every year, Fulltime Families hosts a nationwide summer scavenger hunt for families.

Part scavenger hunt, part educational activity, part family bonding opportunity and 100% fun, the photo scavenger hunt, sponsored by Lazydays, the RV Authority, is a point based competition that unfolds on Facebook over four weeks, with competitors posting pictures to gain points and race to become the Ultimate Explorer and win $250!!!!

The race has been created so family teams can participate anywhere in the world!

Full time rving is not a requirement. Criss-Crossing the country is not a requirement.

Having a camera, a family and an sense of imagination is all that’s required!

Families were issued 99 picture challenges including;

Jumping on a trampoline

Blowing a bubble

Finding a street named after you

Visiting a battle field

Joining a stranger for dinner

Asking a couple to tell you the story of how they met

Being handcuffed to police officer

Shaking hands with the mayor

Havin’ a Dam Good Time with Some Dam Fine Folks

Kimberly No Comments

Our family LOVES to tour dams… I want to believe it has to do with the educational aspect of directing the flow of water and turning it into electricity, but I’m pretty sure it’s because we let the kids say “dam” during the entire dam tour.

IMG_8139

The Glen Canyon Dam was no exception to this rule.  Created in 1964, the dam tames the waters of the Colorado River and created the National Recreation Area known as Lake Powell.

We were fortunate enough to tour this feat of modern engineering with the Arnold Family and the Hamilton Family.  Our dam tour guide as actually a dam electrical engineer who’d been at the dam for since 1965!

glencanyondamwide

There was a great dam junior ranger program there for the kids and an informative movie.

All in all we enjoyed our tour of the Glen Canyon Dam.

2013 Fulltime Families Rally goes Hi-Tech

Kimberly No Comments

Blame it on my i-obsession, but the results speak for themselves.  This year’s rally will be a hi-tech marvel!

It started with an app.

The Rally App is a place to find the latest rally schedule, share pics, and get on-site updates!  It works on both iPhone and Androids.. Go here to get it: http://my.yapp.us/MR5Y9T

If you’ve attended any of our previous rallies, you’ll recall our USA Trivia game is always a good time.  But as the rallies grow, it becomes harder and harder for me to see who’s chiming in with an answer… Enter “Pick Me!” the smart phone app that allows you to buzz in.  My iPad recieves the ‘buzzes’ and I’ll be able to know exactly who had the answer first! Brilliant!

Among other updates we’d like to share with you…

Marianne Edwards – Author of The Frugal RVer will be joining us on Saturday morning for Boondockers 101.  For more info on Frugal RV Travel, check out http://www.frugal-rv-travel.com/RV-Travel-Guide.html

The Weaver Believer Survival Revival will be performing for us on Saturday night at our Ugly Sweater Social.  For more info on this great full time traveling family of performers go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Weaver-Believer-Survival-Revival/21856413631

We are working hard to make this THE BEST FtF Rally yet, so check back often for new updates!
